Questions

How do I add page numbers?

Drop a PDF, pick Header or Footer, set alignment and format, then tap Add numbers. Download the numbered PDF.

What do {n} and {total} mean?

{n} is the current page number. {total} is how many pages the PDF has. Example: Page {n} of {total}.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Page numbers are drawn in your browser. The file never leaves your device for this tool.

Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?

This tool uses the PDF’s own page order starting at 1. For Bates-style prefixes, use Bates numbering instead.

Will numbers cover existing content?

They sit in the header or footer margin area. Dense layouts may still overlap — check a few pages after download.
